A variety of watermelon that is early in its maturation. The fruits are smooth, spherical, and black-green in color, with a waxy coating. The peel does not have a mesh or pattern, and the pulp is bright red, grainy, tender, juicy, and sweet, with an excellent taste. The average fruit weight is 6-9 lbs. This variety is resistant to fusarium and anthracnose, making it suitable for cultivation through seedlings in northern regions.

Growth Instructions for Watermelon: To grow the watermelon, try using the paper towel technique with the seeds. Tear a paper towel in half and moisten one half, then place four or five seeds on the moistened half and fold the other half over the seeds. Open a clear, sandwich-sized zip-close bag and place the paper with seeds inside, then reseal the bag. Set the bag in a location out of direct sunlight and at room temperature, as it will act as a miniature greenhouse to retain heat and moisture. Typically, seeds will sprout in about five to seven days. Use a hoe to create mounds that are approximately 2 feet across at the top and 8 to 12 inches high, as the loose soil helps the roots become established and allows excess water to drain. Level the top of each mound and use your finger to poke four equally-spaced holes in the soil. Deposit one seed in each hole and lightly rake the soil to cover the seeds, being careful not to disturb them. Pack the soil lightly to prevent the seeds from drying out too quickly when watered.
