The oval-shaped watermelon can grow to be as large as 35 pounds and contains few seeds. For best results, start the All Sweet Watermelon Seeds indoors and transplant them outside once the soil is warm and the last frost has passed. When the rind can be pierced by your fingernail, the stem turns brown, and the melon produces a dull thud sound when you knock on the rind, it is ready to be harvested.
